A proposal for dismissal of management was rejected at a general meeting of shareholders held May 31
Hankook Metal Ind. Co. held a general meeting of its shareholders May 31 at the head office in Yangsan, Kyungsannam-do, which voted down the proposal raised by the second-largest shareholder for replacement of the present management of the company.
Thus, the dispute over the replacement of the corporate management caused by the second-largest shareholder at the end of May has ended up with a conclusion that the present management would be retained as it is, giving a victory to the largest shareholder group composed of the existing management.
According to an official at the firm, the shareholders' general meeting on that day, which began at 11:00 a.m. and continued until 12:30 p.m., was slightly extended due to the proceeding with proposals about the appointment of directors and the amendment to the articles of incorporation.
However, the proposal raised by the second-largest shareholder for the discharge of the management was rejected through a vote for resolution, retaining the present management. In addition, the revision of the book closing day to the end of December the firm came up with was passed as originally written.
