From August 10 through 25 for production cut and facility repair works
SeAH Besteel, the Korea’s largest maker of special steel bars, is scheduled to suspend its plant operation for about two weeks from August 10.
It will temporarily halt the plant operation to cut its output from August 10 to 15 when the nation’s electricity consumption is expected to reach the peak. If electricity consumers reduce the consumption of electricity to more than a certain degree for a period of time designated in advance, they will get some benefits from Korea Electric Power Corp. in electricity charge.
According to an official at SeAH Steel, the company intends to suspend its mill operation for about two weeks to get its product demand-supply well-balanced in the domestic market during a seasonal low-demand period.
